Product Packaging and Infrastructure Management
The HSBC Group IT has assigned GLT the responsibility of developing a standard XP Desktop Build and Application packaging for the Group. This is a key strategic initiative by the Group with a view to reduce PC infrastructure/development costs across the Group, and implement a common windows platform across different Group sites.

The new build strategy will drastically reduce PC Infrastructure developments across the Group and allow application development to be performed in any part of the Group for potential deployment worldwide, but without having to do any ‘re-development’ or ‘re-testing’.

The GLT solutions and services ensure the following:
• Single Global Image
• Regionalization through GUI
• Fully automated deployment

Key technologies in use include:
• Windows 2003 Server
• Windows XP
• Microsoft Tools (Win PE, Sysprep etc.)
• Core Java /XML/VB
• Symantec Ghost 7.5


Product Incubations
GLT is building on its multi-faceted domain expertise to run business ideas through an incubation process where the first seeds of the ideas are conceptualised, designed, developed, tested and showcased to the customer fraternity. Product incubations that provide customer delight are then developed on a production scale through the rigorous process and project management framework at GLT.
