Hire Purchase and Leasing System
Overview
The Hire Purchase and Leasing System (HPLS) is third party software to support vehicle and asset finance business of HMEF. HPLS replaced the existing HP system in 3Q 2003. The imperatives for a new system were driven by business needs, like:
• Increased efficiency and turnaround time
• User friendliness and flexibility
• Faster time to market
• Cost effectiveness
• Scalability with product variants, business volumes, etc.
GLT took over the responsibility for ongoing development and maintenance support on warranty expiry after Q1 04. Soon after, a project was initiated with following objectives:
• To enhance the system functionality to support the growing business needs
• Maintaining the system by addressing system issues to ensure smooth functioning of business
• To incorporate features for system improvement with the aim to rollout to other countries
