With a view to maintain a competitive edge, GLT ensures that its associates update themselves to meet the ever-evolving technological challenges. The training and development policies and practices of GLT
- Reflect the Strategic and Operating plans of each business and contribute directly to the achievement of business objectives.
- Ensure that all new entrants receive appropriate induction training, which includes awareness of the Group's core values
- Develop a multi-skilled and flexible workforce capable of responding rapidly to changes in business focus
- Provide for continuous improvement in employee performance in the current jobs and ensure that regulatory requirements are fully met.
A holistic approach to training at GLT extends to knowledge development in the business domain, technical, managerial, process oriented training and training in soft skills such as etiquette and personality development.
A one-week Induction is mandatory for every associate who comes on board GLT, to familiarize and imbibe the philosophy, work culture, business units, policies and procedures. Trainee Software engineers are provided an intensive 8-week technical and general Induction training before taking on their responsibilities. A tried and tested feedback process follows every training program and feasible suggestions received are incorporated.
Online Training
Online training programs supplement classroom-training sessions. The On-line learning repositories are made available to associates through
- Learning Management System [LMS]
- E-learning
LMS is the product developed by HSBC for the skill enhancements of the associates.
The Learning Management System (LMS) incorporates more than 250 Core Banking Applications and Domain related training programs.
E-learning is Internet based on-line learning. It provides more than 3000 courses. The product is hosted by IBM and Netg is the content provider for the same. E-learning courses are spread across multiple categories such as technical, managerial and domain categories.
The Learning Center
The state of the art Learning Center at GLT is equipped with a repository of books catering to a range of technical, managerial books and publications and CBTs (Computer Based Training).
