Training and Development

In order to establish and maintain a key competitive advantage it is essential that GLT makes full use of the skills, abilities and potential of all its associates. In the process, it has established training and development policies and practices, which:
• Have training plans that reflect the Strategic and Operating plans of each business and contribute directly to the achievement of business objectives
• Ensure that all new entrants receive appropriate induction training, which includes awareness of the Group’s core values
• Develop a multi-skilled and flexible workforce capable of responding rapidly to changes in business focus
• Provide for continuous improvement in employee performance in current jobs and ensure regulatory requirements are fully met
• Encourage continuous self-development of all associates
Training is provided at GLT on all dimensions to ensure holistic development. These include:
• Business Domain
• Technical
• Managerial
• Process Oriented
• Ethics, Etiquettes, Personality Development and General Areas
Training Plan
The training plan elaborates the various processes that ensure the smooth co-ordination and implementation of the training programmes.
Business Unit Heads nominate suitable persons, as Training Representatives as they know and understand the project needs.
They meet with the training team on a predefined day each month to discuss all matters pertaining to training requirements for subsequent months. Feedback for previous month is discussed.
Training Calendar
The inputs from the TR meet goes to formulate the Training Calendar. The Training Calendar is published every month for the next calendar month.
